Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — any content you supply to us, including your text, images, logos and branding, remains your property at all times. If you ever leave, you can request a full copy of your website content and we’ll provide it within 10 business days at no charge.
Yes. Whether we purchase a domain on your behalf or you transfer an existing one to us, the domain belongs to you. If you cancel, we’ll transfer it to a registrar of your choice within 10 business days. We will never withhold your domain.
We ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months. This gives us enough time to properly build, launch and start getting real results for your site — and it means you’re not bailing before the work has had a chance to make a difference. After your 6 months are up, you’re free to stay or leave with 30 days written notice. No long-term lock-in beyond that.
Most sites are live within 2–3 weeks of us receiving your content and your first payment. The sooner you send us your content, the sooner you’re online. Please note that delays caused by late content from your side won’t affect your billing start date, so it’s worth getting us everything as quickly as you can.
We’ll need your written content, logo, any images you want to use, and a brief about your business and goals. Not got everything ready? Just let us know — we’ll guide you through what we need and when.
We include 2 rounds of revisions during the build process as standard. Any additional revision requests beyond that may be subject to an extra charge, which we’ll always confirm with you before proceeding.
On We Manage It plans, just email us at admin@greatbritishsites.co.uk and we’ll action your content changes within 3–5 business days. On You Manage It plans, you can log in to your WordPress account anytime and make changes yourself. Please note that once your site is live, structural or design changes are treated as new work and quoted separately.
Simply email us at admin@greatbritishsites.co.uk with 30 days notice once your 6 month minimum term is complete. We’ll continue hosting your site during the notice period, then take it offline once the period ends. We’ll provide a full export of your content and transfer your domain to wherever you’d like it — no awkward conversations, no holdups.
We’ll notify you straight away and give you 7 days to resolve it. If payment isn’t received within that window, your site may be suspended. If it remains unpaid for a further 14 days after that, we reserve the right to terminate the agreement. We’d much rather just sort it out — so please get in touch as soon as you can if there’s a problem.
Yes — every site we build is fully mobile-responsive and tested across devices as standard. Over 60% of UK web traffic is on mobile and we build for that from day one.
Yes. Your site is hosted on our private UK server and clients are never given direct server access — this is to protect the security of all websites we manage. Your WordPress login credentials (on You Manage It plans) should be kept secure and not shared with anyone else.
No — and we’d never claim otherwise. Basic on-page SEO is included in your build and gives Google everything it needs to find and understand your site from day one. However, search engine rankings are controlled by Google’s own algorithms and results vary. Our Advanced SEO add-on helps you build on that foundation over time.
Yes. Before development begins, we’ll send you a screenshot demo of your header and hero section for approval. Work only starts once you’re happy with the direction and your first payment has been processed.
We may feature your completed site in our portfolio and on our social channels, but always professionally and in a positive context. If you’d prefer we didn’t, just let us know in writing and we’ll honour that straight away — no questions asked.
